From another old guy, I was told once that the first studebaker V8s were similar to the old cad V8s. :roll:

When I was young, 70+ years ago, my grandfather had a can of whale oil that he used to oil his boots. I don't recall of it having any foul smell. And he kept it on a shelf behind the wood burning stove. :shock: :lol:

Just a thought; here in the Boise area there is a lot of irrigation for the farms. One of the machine shops I buy shorts from said another source for shafts is pump repair shops. They will sell the damaged motor shafts. I haven't tried that yet but will when needed.
