I have seen aircraft set for years with Alodine and then get painted without a problem.

As an aircraft painter would etch and alodine the aluminum. Tack rag. Then apply epoxy polyamide primer. The Ridge Live Steamers has 4 Boxes -1 tie of 7-5/8”x15/16” base Accu-Tie ties that we cannot use. They can be picked up at the Ridge Live Steamers track site. You must be a 501C3 organization.

I have a pair of the original LS starting valves on my locomotive. Metal seat and valve. No problem with over 15 years of service. I did have to lap them when I first put them on.
