Perhaps I should clarify a bit.
This is a basement floor in a private dwelling, so there are no employees. It's just me and the cats. And none of the spots I'm talking about are over 6" in diameter, so a full blown floor grinder is a bit of overkill.
I appreciate the input.

Shop floor question
Not metalworking, per se, but I figured one or more of you will have some ideas.
I have some rough spots -- places where bad patches were done -- in my basement, concrete floor that I want to smooth out. I'm thinking an angle grinder, maybe? If so, what sort of wheel would I use?
Thanks.

Re: Track layout software
There are quite a few packages for smaller scales. Can you use one of those and just scale up?

Rotary table oil
My new Phase II rotary table says to use "light hydraulic fluid". I did a little reading on the web and found three different AW ratings for hydraulic oils, with AW32 being the 'lightest.' So I got some "hydraulic and jack oil," AW32, at the local auto parts store. Is that what I...

Re: Opinions on the grizzly G4003g
This is good to know. I've been mulling a 12", stradling the fence between used and new, and this is one I'd been thinking about.
Merry Christmas, all.
Merry Christmas, all.

Well, there is a Cincinnati machine tool company I've never heard of. (Not that I think I know even half of them...)

Re: I need some "train" quotes!! HELP
Riding on the City of New Orleans, etc... "Woody" Guthrie (July 14, 1912 – October 3, 1967) was an American singer-songwriter and folk musician "The City of New Orleans" was actually written by Steve Goodman and (most famously) performed by Arlo Guthrie, Woody's son. Interesting...

Re: I need some "train" quotes!! HELP
Some song lyrics? "I wish I were a fast freight train just a chooglin' on down to New Orleans." - John Fogerty, 'Born on the Bayou' "I wish I was a headlight, on a northbound train. I'd shine my light through the cool, Colorado rain." - Trad., 'I Know You Rider' (the Grateful Dea...
