Re: Electric Engine Controllers
Terry, I built an interface for a simple four function Futaba controller. I have direction, speed, and horn controls, no other functions needed for my application. This sound really interesting. If you get a chance, could you post a pic or two of your interface? I'm building a little battery powered...

Re: Cylinder Cocks
Interesting, but am I missing something? When I look at the drawing and the table of dimensions, dims E & F look wrong unless the drawing is not to scale. In the drawing the length seems to be about 2 to 3 times the diameter, but by the table it's only a small bit longer than it is wide. Is it my ey...

Re: Storing stock and wood
I have big screw hooks, the kind sold to hang bikes and such, in the rafters of my garage. Long pieces are off the floor, easy to get to, and even 20 footers aren't a problem.

Re: Semi Trailer Tires
I would be interested in about 4 to 12 of them if price was reasonable. Also, would they be cast in color or would they be paintable?

Re: Chained to a metric sprocket!
Thanks for the info and ideas guys, I think I have it figured out. I found a solution to the metric shaft problem in a round-about inch size way. Martin Sprockets sells a taper lock sprocket bushing in inch size .787". Tada, 20mm without going metric. And Chooch, I'm frugal (broke in my case) too, a...

Re: Chained to a metric sprocket!
Thanks for the ideas Big Dave. I guess that's what I'll have to do. Just seemed odd to me that nobody makes one.

Chained to a metric sprocket!
Hello All, So I'm just getting started in the live steam/ride-on hobby and I'm on a very limited budget. I'm building a battery powered Goose type thing for my first loco and I have a couple of questions regarding my drive system. I have the guts out of an electric wheelchair (2 24vdc motors with an...

Re: What I got for Christmas
Thanks all for the encouragement. I'm looking forward to getting started but want to educate myself before spending big bucks on machines. I really want to build something in 7.5" but will probably start with something not as complicated as the Heisler as someone has suggested.
