Re: TWO GREAT FRIENDS
Dave Both are very nice you are lucky man! I hope to live long enough to have a steam friend in some form. I already have someone that puts up with my affection for steam. Hope to see more of your friends in up coming videos. Speaking of videos, you were going to do a follow up the Hudson (air pumps...

Re: Norfolk & Western 0-8-0
Gam44 and Ronald Those are great pictures! This is one hell of a switcher. As a kid I fell in love with a NPT (Northern pacific Terminal) no 16. She was still under steam. She had slopped back tender was used in the yard and roundhouse area. I'm going to show my ignorance now and ask. I'm assuming t...

Re: SOLVED: Sight Glass water drops during running
Not to cause, a problem, but rereading my 1986 ASME boiler code. Reviewing the Section on Filler Metals QW404 In particular QW-409.9 Talks about the flux classifications (SFA) when welding they (ASME) are concerned about changing flux material. In other words using fluxes that are comparable. The 3 ...

Re: Stainless steel boiler
86 turbo diesel What make is the turbo? and welcome from me any way. I love reading the replies on the SS boiler stuff, its great fun. My only comment would be the size. Here at the LC Oregon boiler code last time I checked was below 12" diameter inside diameter. Larger than that it should be a...

Re: Propane gas burners. Ceramic burner suitable?
This topic brings me to a few questions. I see many to do not lag the boilers. Are folks using any type of fire brick and if so how far up the side sheets and throat do you run the brick/ceramic materal.
Thanks
Clint

Re: THE HARDINGE DSM-A IN ACTION
Dave That takes a pretty good mind, and Lots of determination, to stay with a a project when it has more than 2 to 3 problems. This will also give you more time so you can make more things for us to buy... such as a Sellers SA Injector or double sided boiler pressure gauge used on a lot of Baldwins?...

Re: MERCER LOCOMOTIVE SHOP TOUR PART 2
As usual Love the video. Nice to see the shop and put it all together as far as how it is laid out. Always interesting stuff such as your idea for getting compressor out of the way and the timer. Also liked the coolant shield support for the turret lathe. The feeder I had never seen before. Love you...

Re: SOME INTRESTING VIDEO FOOTAGE
Dave Thanks again for showing what you are doing with your great engine, whither its a new product or a problem you are fixing. Many would not have the courage to show problems, but I believe this video maybe greater help to those building and running their engines. As to Johnson bar location on the...

Re: Question about PRR k-4's development
Dave Not to labor over the point but... are the half moons located on the bracket between the center fulcrum at the rear Driver area and the trailing truck wheels. I looked at the frame blueprint this morning it only shows a hole in the middle of this bracket, so I'm assuming this is where some kind...

Re: Question about PRR k-4's development
Corey Thanks I'll try and get some pics of that number series, to study Dave thanks for the additional info. Question on your trailing truck, below the journal box it looks like round buttons springs above are sitting on the track. Is this so? I'm assuming that the buttons are screw knobs that hold ...
