Anybody know where to get M10x1.0 set screws 50mm long?
Title says it all, I really don't want to kick down $30.00 to McMaster for a threaded stud to cut it down for one measly tool holder.

Re: 3-in-1 selection.
I've got a Smithy Granite 1324 3-n-1... I have had a Rong Fu mill, and currently have a Vectrax 10X54" mill and a Jet 13x40" lathe. My experience has been this as follows. The Smithy does well as a lathe, and does OK as a mill. I put the "MAX" style mill head on my machine that h...

Re: Which Machine Scares You the Most?
Large bench grinder, the idea of a spinning bomb should the wheel fail freaks me out. Also large presses make me uneasy. I have a buddy had a brush with death trying to straighten some used thick 4140 plate (of unknown hardness) in a 120 ton ironworker. After he squirted it 100 feet across the shop ...

Grease Kicker by Mt. Hood Chemical is like old formulation super clean but stronger.
It is for cleaning griddles. It is also effective at paint removal, and making aluminum disappear.

Re: Bending Aluminum Pipe?
Be aware of what alloy of Aluminum you are buying. A lot of aluminum pipe is used by electric utilities for bus in substations. When I used to work for another utility we had a guy on another crew nearly loose his hand while bending a section of bus. He was using a Greenlee 884 on a tabletop trying ...

Steve,
I'm 99.9% sure that noise is normal.
Just the carrier frequency you are hearing... I think. Phase Perfect seems to be better at guarding the technical workings of their gizmo than NASA.

Re: Garage-Eating Machine Arrives at Rigger's
If you have $70.00 burning a hole in your pocket I'd go on amazon.com and splurge on a Marshalltown 16595 pry bar. They come in real handy for people who have large equipment addiction syndrome. Nothing like a 56" spring steel pry bar of doom to motivate a piece of equipment. I've moved a 3,000...

I'd just remove the head, round ram and handles.
Lower the knee all the way and have a go at it strapped to a hand truck with 2+ people.

Re: small cutoff saw
Google 48-08-0260 It is the part number for a Milwaukee stand. It seems limited, fine for perpendicular cuts, but no angle capability. The clamp is similar to a chain vise. The goofy clamp may actually be nice for irregular shapes. Maybe just fabricate a stand for a quality saw like a Milwaukee or D...

The Ebay item mentioned above has a nameplate that says it requires 3-phase input. Which I do not have. I'm about to pop for the Spedestar. Glenn suggested a Phase Perfect. Maybe if I were starting from scratch I'd go that way, but here I am with a bunch of VFDs already in use. Three grand is a who...
