Re: Repairing Knee Crank On Small Mill
Hand wheel sounds like a good idea on the small stuff, but I'm not sure it will work on my 3hp bridgeport clone. when I load up the table with the dividing head tail stock and a shaft I need those extra inches of leverage. Charles F. PS. but I'm still going to look at it when the handle breaks again...

Re: Repairing Knee Crank On Small Mill
Randy,
Not sure if what I did really was of a great repair, I would think Big Dave, Harold and others probably know a better way to repair it and without so much wasted effort unfortunately I did not have access to this site when I broke the handle.

Re: Repairing Knee Crank On Small Mill
Randy, My knee mill handle broke in the same place. I have clay bricks that I positioned into an oven and started a fire with some leftover coke and a controlled air jet plowing under the grate until a 1” thick plate 12” x 6” with the handle parts on top glowed a dull red. Then I used my torch to br...

Re: A Biginners MIG Adventures
Ed, I would guess that the top weld was the last and the bottom was the first. The top has an even pattern to it. But looking on the back I see nice penetration, you could go for more but don’t try it now wait until you get your abilities reach a second nature then increase the temp and get a little...

Re: Paint Sprayer Question
Rent an airless paint sprayer for the $20.00 it cost it for a day’s rental it will save so much time. Household water based paint works best without any air, just the high compression pump.

No of course there not marked, so would an ophthalmologist have an optical comparator? If not then I'm on my own.If they're not marked you'll have to find a friend with an optical comparator and document what those are.

Re: Paint Sprayer Question
Bob,
Are you painting indoors or out? Is the surface primer ready? What are you painting? What will be the temperature and humidity?
Normally the gravity fed will do better than siphon for feed but it depends on the application questions above.
