Re: Foundry flasks

They never taught foundry work when I went to school....but if I had the notion to know, I would! My only experience with it was a few years ago when I had a riser cas...

Thanks Charles, great explanation! I pretty much figured it out after seeing the cut pieces of wood Haro...

Thanks Harold!
I'd like to think some of that success came from learning and listening to others here!

Re: cutting the column on a drill press - how much to cut?
I've been following this thread from the beginning and it confounds me how, despite all of the good advice (and warnings) about using this machine as a mill the OP still pushes forward. I get not having enough money or trying to DIY something but in this case it's just not practical or safe! By the ...

Re: Black Ice! Diamond studded fishing reel
That's what they tell me! I bought a pneumatic graver system to try to learn but found the learning curve to be steep so I'll need practice.....lots of it.

Re: Black Ice! Diamond studded fishing reel
They tell me it's called Pave setting which has small beads of metal protruding to hold the diamonds. After a quick review I decided it was far beyond my scope to do so many pieces. I'm glad I opted out....

Re: Black Ice! Diamond studded fishing reel
I set the three larger (.4 Karat) diamonds. I was going to attempt the smaller ones but decided I didn't have enough time to learn the art properly so the customers jeweler did them, besides, there were 763 of those to do.
