Re: Good steamers for beginners, any advice?
GhettoFab, Bittercreek does not have a high line or dual guage unfortunately. But I do highly recommend visiting when you get a chance. Karl is a great guy as are the regular crew that is frequently out there. I have visited twice and am too a newcomer. I currently am working on a 1.5" electric...

Re: 2-8-0 Consolidation 2 1/2 Scale
I do not have any first hand knowledge but a new friend met at bitter creek western a couple weeks ago could probably give me some for you as he has the #4 engine in that set. I will drop him a line and see what I can learn for ya. BTW I got to see that bumble bee run during that narrow guage meet a...

Re: Help
Locoray,
I visited them not long ago and the owner had stated there were issues with emails not getting through due to a situation as Greg had stated. I had sent them something like 4-5 before they got back to me.

Looking great as always Jack. It was great meeting you at Bitter Creek last weekend. If Jack had an apprentice position I would be standing in line for sure. I got the chance to see some of Jacks work in person last weekend and all I can say is awesome.

I would of had some video of the night time lash up but Jr was sleeping and well I was too busy running the beam engine thanks to Tom Osterdock :D . I think the steam bug has bitten me  . Re: Chloe Rebuilding progress
Jeff, I have some video of the triple head you and Mike were part of on sunday. I have it posted on youtube but not sure where to post it. Do you know if Mike is going to start a new thread on the meet or know where he will be posting his stuff? Its not as good of quality as what he will have but it...

Re: AUXILIARY RESIVOIR
I can vouch for the bottle trainman has chosen for his air tank reservoir. It will probably last a good long while before he has any issues with it. Those tanks are mostly run at 80psi in the model aircraft world as that is the operating psi for most air retracts. So him running it at 70psi just may...

Re: Eectric Conversion
Oh forgot to mention a quick search of Ebay shows several of the 24v 250W motors used on there for $17 to $26 each plus about $12 shipping. If you get them from the same seller they might even give you a break on shipping. Just go on there and type in 24v 250W electric motor and all the ones I found...

Re: Eectric Conversion
I know from research I have done that there are places you can go online that have DC motors for conversions at varying prices. I know Plum Cove Studios has some motors plus there are various other sites that either offer conversion services. Roy Stevens from RideTrains has an article on his website...

Re: Bitter Creek July 4 meet story and photos
Mike, I had planned on going to the Narrow Guage meet next month to if all else failed to help clean-up and help in any way I could. But I am actually now going to be heading to Phoenix to pick up my new Loco chassis and car bodies  . If I can get the trip done early enough (late July) I mi...

Re: Bitter Creek July 4 meet story and photos
Excellent pictures and really makes me wish I had finaggled a way to stay a day or 2 longer. I was there on the 1st and met Karl as well as some of the regulars. I helped Karl and the others unload Jerry from Maricopa Live Steamers when he got there on thursday. I am new to the boards and large scal...
