I will be there tomorrow evening. Shooting for around 5 or so. Not bringing steam but rather my new Boxcab. I know my good friend Tom is bringing his Connor Beam Engine and will be there Saturday morning.

I tested the charging plug, charger, and system last night. I totally charged the loco up from a day and a half of running in 6 1/2 hours. Totall...

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Thanks for all the kind words guys. It has taken a lot of work and is still far from done. But does run and work beautifully. As for paint once I finish the rest of the internals installation she will be painted. Hoping to get at least a primer coat on before this weekend. But right now the sound sy...

Also wanted to post that I received the new controller/sound system from Roy at Ride Trains. Here is a pic of what it came with. Hope to have it in in the next few days for testing before the LALS Spring meet this weekend.

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Well been busy busy busy. I got the cab mounted and the loco buttoned up for its first run this last weekend at the Sacramento Valley Live Steamers spring meet. The locomotive ran flawlessly all weekend. The loco ran for the better part of 12 hours on Saturday. Then for several hours on Sunday befor...

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Well made up a basic hand unit for testing and running thanks to Chris Brew till the real control unit shows up. With its first meet so close I wanted to have something on hand just in case. So the loco got a bench test run to check function and operation. All checks good to go.

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Mated the roof with its supports so that monkey is off my back. The cab is now in a runable state but far from done. Still needs hand rails, windows, frames, bell, whistle etc. Those are yet to come.

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Work from today was pretty productive. Installed the motor and tested to make sure chains moved freely. All cab screws installed. Doors hung with working door latches installed. Just need to finish up the roof and get the coupler tubes in the chassis.

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Chooch, Thanks for the kind words. As its my first build and am a rather picky person about the look and details I didn't want to sound arrogant. I will definitely do a demo once she is all together. Hoping I might be able to this weekend but not sure. I will have a heck of time getting most of the ...

Re: Newbie attempting first project.
I can throw in another suggestion for a low price speed controller as my boxcab currently under build will be using one. Its a dimension engineering syren 25 or syren 50 depending on your needs. They are easy to wire and install plus have a very small footprint. You can get them for around $100-150 ...

Last pics for a few days. Got a lot done this weekend and the loco is looking good I think. Hope to have most of the rest of the parts to get her moving on her own power by Tuesday. Can't wait.
