Re: Another piece of Live Steam History has been found.
Hi John, while you are scanning old photos, can you post a few of Tintern Abbey's build? Not to hijack this fine ongoing thread, but would sure like to see more than just the few I have seen in Modeltec.

Re: 2" Scale A1 Pacific
Most of the Romney Pacific's closely followed Greasley's new LNER A1 design. "Canadian Pacific" followed more of a North American Pacific design, not sure about the mountains.

Re: Fishplates Anyone??
RRSC has the more "modern" fishplates...the kind that has the curved edges that support the railhead and the base. Does anyone know where the FLAT 4 holed fishplates can be found??

Hello All, Really enjoy this forum. The discussion, talent and dedication to the live steam hobby is most enjoyable! With the recent talk about GGLS, and with so many GGLS members on this board, I thought you might like to see the covergirl on August 1987's MODELTEC Magazine in 2013. "Tintern A...

Inside cylinder wall lubrication
Ok, from safeties to cylinder lubrication....does anyone have any recommendations for cylinder lubrication AFTER running? Yes, you can spin the mechanical lubricator to put light oil into the cylinder chamber after blowdown, and I do, and get that...but is there some kind more permanent solution to ...

Re: Weeping safeties
The safeties, don't pull pull pure water thru them, but will sure pull really wet steam....the safeties are mounted just in front of the cab, at the back of the boiler....don't get me wrong, it's a livable set up, but would like a bit of warning before the big lift. Don at loco parts recommended ACC...

Re: Weeping safeties
Thanks guys....I'm not an expert enough at regulating the coal fire to keep the safeties from "exploding" at 122 and 125....yes, we lift them on initial steam up...but with these littler 1.5" locomotives, those "all or nothing" lifting safties pull steam, wet steam, and even...
