To any locomotive a sprocket or gear would be better as there will be too much wheel slip if encountering any type of grade other than a dead flat road.

I could do that indeed. It is why I posed the question here. To look for ideas. Thankyou.

Re: Mad notions

I did some further reading about the creation some one did. It was created in Quebec. The blow out was not from heat. It was from overloading. Here are the pictures of some one esles design. 169483696_10206107771289058_2375654309586010112_n.jpg 68870430_10206107771449062_4006338583106420736_n.jpg 69...

Re: Propane firing question

I made the foolish mistake of not putting the plate that fits over the burners. The result was easy firing as long as it was stationary. As soon as the engine had to work it wouldnt maintain pressure as it would suck cold air past the burners.

So I saw on a friends page on FaceBook that some one had made a Clishay gocart. Alas it wasnt a very good job as the heat from the boiler would burn the driv...

Wow! $20 for a Model T Coil is cheap!

Back in the 1980's when I was doing my Model T, coils were $50 apiece!

Re: Railroad Supply?

If you do go pound on his door. Be polite and offer to help him, he is usually backlogged with work.

I think I ran a drill press for him making stainless grates. Or at least it was repetitive drilling in stainless steel.
