I must appreciate the fine table for the fine lathe, It was More than fine and we know it. Sturdy heavy braced took sweat and may by tears. Aye! you got it done!

I bought a horizontal milling machine for $100.00 . It cost $600.00 to ship it And I had to drive near 200 miles as the Crow Doesn't Fly, to pick it up. It is, however, a good machine(if the squirrels quit dancing on the table). Shortly afterward .. they sold the vertical version for the same price....

I don't think there is much left of the WWII types. Whoe they ramped up. They were Super Alert. They were growling sirens, in and out of phase . Phase shifting came from that.

Then from Texas. I grew up in Texas We could drive cars way young at 15-16 years old. These were really old automobiles.

So back to a horizontal mill..We need to remember our mentor. It doesn't have to be a "universal/ swivel table. You can place another atop and drive it for helical gears' milling.

I don't know how many jets cross Portugal. I DO know that Portugal criss crossed the World. It was very early and they mapped routes hundred years before .

There is a mill/drill which is different than the ones we often see. It has a universal/swivel table. The vertical column is like a lathe bed, stood on end. The head rides the column and can be swiveled dang near 360 degrees. The quill advances 3-4". It doesn't "nod" and all that but ...
