Re: Mystery bronze

This is a pretty much perfect temp for brass, judging by color.
I've found it a bit tricky to " guess" the temp by color in the past and have the unfortunate tendency to be a bit cold...
This pour was just about perfect. I used Matt casting flux from Riogrande..

Re: Mystery bronze

I work for a municipal water company that replaces these meters every so many years. Over the past 5 years we have been switching to " smart meters" fitted with radio transmitters. The old meters are sorted andvsold for scrap. All the meteres, even the larger 4" ones we thought might ...

Re: Coles Models Holt 75 engine model

I managed to get a set, and there is also a gentleman on the HMEM site that is working on a set of drawings for a bar stock engine. Depending on my work load I hope to make some castings for the engine by the end of the year.

Re: Thieves caught on video stealing mini steam train in West Seattle

I can see your original question has NOT been answered. Oblivion sounds right to me. The first response answered the question, and you're correct. It was closed, which is akin to oblivion. A loss to the hobby, as was the passing of Anton Bohaboy. H You would think that they would pass the t...
