LALS meet

As the executive chef on Saturday, yes it rained quite well on us. There was a lot of 3/4 and 1 inch runners out there, with a few new 1 1/2 inch train there also. I feed maybe 40-50 people for breakfast. They did have 120 people for the catered dinner and dance that night. Being that it was not adv...

Yes, a gentleman in PA bought it. I do not know if the website has been created, nor a phone number. From what I understand, the 1.5" scale has also moved to PA. The biggest problem with LE is it is a side line for both owners (I understand that it is not profitable by it self). The LE website ...

Chine produced

Having read the below thread about the Cooke line and trouble getting parts, I have to ask if one could produce or let's say take an existing line of locomotive designs (LE comes in mind) and went to China, and mass produced the line , would anyone buy them? I know this takes the fun out of milling ...

Templeton train layout

While moving my sister this weekend into a house east of Templeton CA, I saw a property at South El Pomar and El Pomar roads that had train stuff all over the yard, track consisting of a great outer loop, an inner loop, and a trestle. The gauge looked like 12 inch, an there was a lot of rust on the ...

LE 0-4-0

I have a LE 0-4-0 in a box. Lots of castings, and a set of plans. I am willing to sell it to add space in the garage. I am located in SoCal. If interested, email me.

Locomotive Works

Been two months since we heard that Russell Stewart had delivered all of the inventory of Little Engines of CA (the small scale stuff) to his place in PA. When is a website going up if one wants to buy parts/plans, or how does one contact him for parts?

electic stoker?

Could you not build a stoker that would be electric powered? Then the steam consumption is not an issue. (just where to put the battery and motor)

Also, order the rice size coal from Pocahantous, screen it, then you would get a consistant size.
