Re: Plasma Cutter

Willy,

A lucky shot came along. A friend contacted me about his friend that has one and is not using it. He offered it to me for $350.Yahoo !!!

It apears to be about a 1/4 to 3/8th machine about 7-8 years old. They used it to build a hot rod. Then no use for the last 3-4 years.

Re: lubricator plumbing

We modelers use way to much steam oil. I have found that with a single feed you run a line to the "T" where the steam delivery pipes split to go to cylinders. This way the oil will follow the steam to each cylinder. I do this buy silver soldering a 1/8th compression fitting on the side of ...

Re: Looking for Drawings or ideas for Cylinder Drains

Looks good Chris.

If you have "D" valve cylinders the ones you have will work fine. If you want the extra work check with Railroad Supply or Railroad warehouse.

Re: Cheap electric controller

I have one of 4qd controllers in my 1.5 in Mack rail bus. Bus weighs 250 pounds plus a flat car or gon carring 1 or 2 people. Fair price, works great. Go to their site and figure out what you need and order from the guy here in the south eartern USA. The only item I had a problem with was a blown fu...

Re: Steam Pump exhaust

The first time I plumbed the steam pump through the stack was the last. It lasted one run!!! When you are running and turn the pump on you get a shower as the pump clears its throat. I took out the exhaust and ran it straight out the pipe to the ground on a slight bend outward away from the rods and...

Re: Cabin fever new location.

I was there Saturday with a friend of mine. I had a whole 1.5 hour drive each way. We got there at 9:00 and left at 4:00. I was looking for several pieces and came home with all pieces and at a fair price. The one item I was looking for was a 8 " h/v rotary table. I saw many at all prices and c...

Re: Plasma Cutter

Scott,

The guy called me this evening and I told him I did not want it. I kind of felt that it was high. I'll give him a week and see if he still has it and offer him $500. and see what happens. Main concern was using it on the light materials.
Thanks,

Re: 2 1/2" Scale Mogul

That 2&1/2 inch scale, C&S 2-6-0 mogul for sale on the Live Steaming page belongs to a friend of mine. Poor health is the reason for selling. He is on portable oxygen. Coal burners are out for him. I did all of the modification for him and we ran it November 2000. It got winterized and the n...

Plasma Cutter

I have never used a plasma cutter. I have a chance to purchase a 4 year old Hypertherm 43 hardly used. The person selling it sorta needs cash. It runs between 20 amps and 40 amps. Weighs about 45 pounds. When new about $1900. I can get for about $900. 230 volts. Located about 1 hour from me near Wil...

Re: Moseley Steam Turbo Generator--need help

Eric, On my 1" scale Berkshire I have a Moseley generator. I hooked it up many years ago. It kept blowing out expensive bulbs. I cut the wires and put a motorcycle battery in the gon behind the loco and wired everything 6 volts. No problem since. I do not have the exhaust steam in my chest on a...
