Re: tender capacities and hand pump size
I agree, my coal bunker is a bout the same size on my allen mogul. It works just fine, I keep a coal bucket in a riding car or next to the water tower. As for hand pumps, I would not bother with one, I have a typical double acting hand pump and found it near impossible to pump enough water fast enou...

Eectric Conversion
I was wondering if I could get some basic info on the cost of DC motors and controllers. I am considering converting a gas engine to electric, 1 1/2" engine with two, two axle trucks. Not sure if I will have a motor on each axle or just one per truck and connect the axles with chains. Any info ...

Rail Punch
A number of years ago I saw an article and drawing for making a simple punch that punches the two holes in the rail for the rail joiner bolts at the same time. I think it was in " Live Steam " but may have been in " Modletec ", if any of you has a copy of the print or know what i...

I don't really see that it matters. The same could be said if you had not done your own castings, or design work. You mention respect, postings like this only damage any respect I have for you. You should PM someone if you have a problem with them not post it in the wide open. MODERATOR PLEASE LOCK ...

I bored the cylinders for my Mikado on my Bridgeport, I bored to the limit of the quill and then raised the table. It did leave a small ridge where the tool started cutting again. I used a cylinder hone to remove some of the ridge, and simply pressed the liners in, they went in with no problem. My m...

Mr. Sheilds, I do not know you nor you me, but I will tell you that I take offense at being accused of trying to get something for nothing. I am well aware of the fact that LE is still in business, but you are obviosly not aware that because of liability concerns they no longer offer boiler prints. ...

Little Engines Boiler Print
If anyone has the boiler print for a Little Engines 4-4-0, and wouldn't mind loaning or giving a copy to someone in need, would you please e-mail me at brentcourtney@sbcglobal.net , I am trying to help someone who has an older engine get an idea of how his boiler is built.
Thanks
