What vintage Hendley lathe?
A web search reveals manuals possibly available, but the machine's vintage needs to be known

Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

I suggest painting the boring bar with Dykem blue (or equivalent), try boring with it, and look for any signs of rubbing anywhere on the bar. The photo you provided seems to have some surface discontinuities, but I can't make out useful details. I've done this same process before to corrector "...

Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

If the shafts can slide into those aluminum holders, the act of tightening those set screws likely will push the shafts off center. Perhaps boring the holes smaller and lightly heat shrinking the shafts into those holders (temporarily) would get the concentricity closer. Then again, chucking the sha...

Good progress.
And a lesson why I always mount unfinished pistons on their rods and THEN turn them to final dimensions relative to their rods.
Glad you got there.

Re: 48v battery chargers

Watts = Volts x Amps so Amps = Watts / Volts Batteries have a desired charging amperage. Check their specifications. Lead Acid batteries require a specific charging Voltage to keep the Amperage within acceptable limits, and not overcharge the battery. Smart chargers taper off the charge after reachi...

Re: Full Size Locomotive + Cars for Sale

That steam locomotive #7 appears to be part way through the required BIG boiler survey, judging by the X-Y patterns marking locations on the boiler to make ultrasonic thickness measurements. I wonder what condition that loco is actually in?
Quite an amazing survival.

Re: Left handed lathe, for lack of a better name

"...cross slide dial left of the carriage feed..."

I am having difficulty visualizing what this configuration is. That sounds like the normal setup I am familiar with.
Clarification please?
Thanks,

Re: How do I center this nut?

Copy the links and paste them on another window. Then the pics show up.

But I can't offer help because I don't understand specifically the problem described.
"the nut centered" how? Between the bolts?
