My 1-1/2" Mogul is equalized, no springs and tracks like a dream. Some of my 3/4" are leaf sprung, some are just equalized. The spung lokes rock and roll more than the equalized.

Some of those films are here with me. We showed a bunch under our club's big dining tent on a sheet during our 70th Anniversary Meet in 2004.

Folks really enjoyed watching the old stuff.

Re: 3/4" Scale Box Cars

You are quite right about Georges train Jim. I was allowed to pull it around the old track with my Niagara once. I remember him saying that to move this train, you need "BIG PAWAA". Pulling a long(er) train with highliners is a neat sensation with the drag of the cars through curves and t...

Re: Seat

Would a replacement seat for a small tractor work? Some of those have very little in the way of a seatback.

Re: 3/4" Scale Box Cars

I talked about doing this for several years after seeing George Dimond's freight train. Hi Steve, Same here, George's trains are famous. Have you ever seen the photo of him double-heading one by himself? They have a large framed print in the Hobo Hilton (clubhouse) at Waushakum. I have 8 or so cars...

Did you see it run, how much of a handful was it to fire? My daughter Liz fired it for a few hours when Dan brought it up to Montreal. She was 14 at the time. Dan's grandson rode shotgun on the tender but she had no problem steaming around. I had a turn and the firebox is very long so you have to b...

Re: Beginner Questions

I found it difficult to find informations on how to build a boiler. I understand peple shy away from divulging boiler construction information for liability reasons. Is there a place to start to educate myself on safe boiler building. I am interest in static models, low pressure, just enough to run...

Re: 3.5" Guage Northern CPR #3100

Looking for a history on a CPR Northern #3100 recently aquired. 3 1/2" guage with the names D. Mosier and SH GALLOWAY stamped on the frame; could they have been CPR machinists? Was bought from a New Jersey gentleman who in turn had bought at a yard sale of all places, missing the whole front e...

Always a good point.

In these particular photos the lathe was not in motion.
