Re: One man's insanity---the story of an induction furnace

Harold; Where there’s a will, there’s a way. You’re not insane. Maybe an “Industrious Passionate”? The motor generator being the heart of the power supply should be inspected and considered for recondition. Because it’s of vertical design, the bearing fits are likely still in good condition, “but” t...

Re: Delrin and Journals

Thanks for your reply Bill. A reminder that Google is a friend in all of this (as usual). A quick search on the subject of Delrin used for bearings finds this statement directly from DuPont engineering literature: "Soft steel or stainless steel, as well as all non-ferrous metals do not run well...

Re: Delrin and Journals

Is it possible to clarify how the term “journal” is being used in this discussion? The original post by Dick_Morris alludes to making a journal portion of a shaft from delrin. “…I can't remember seeing a discussion of using it for journals.” I understand the [railroad speak] term of journal bearings...

Re: Signals: Stick relay....

Agree with BigDumbDinosaur, a detailed explanation of Absolute Permissive Block Signaling is outside the scope of what can be explained here. Googling "ABP", Absolute Permissive Block Signaling will keep you busy for quite a while. From my signaling archives, here is the most abbreviated e...

Re: Signals: Stick relay....

Zach at Mark's suggestion of http://www.rrsignalpix.com/ is a participant at the Yahoo Group as well, so either way.

It's nice to see/read that signaling is on the minds of people lovin' the avocation.

Ha Ha ; ) just mentioned Yahoo on another thread, and a better place to post such a question would be at the URL below. (An active group since 1999)

Trend/Decline in hobby related Yahoo Groups Participation?

There appears to be a continued curve downward in several Yahoo Groups (originally E-Groups) participation.

Among the long time dwellers devoted to on-line participation with-in hobby related websites,
do you have any hints/opinions as to what is going on with Yahoo Groups? (Or not going on?)

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies.

The Statue of Liberty was determined to be anatomically incorrect.

Yet it’s never been referred to as “junk”.
