Re: 1.5" scale British buffers
I've been looking for some as well for my german BR52, but have yet to find any buffers or drawhooks. I have some drawings if you're interested, I'll scan and upload for you. Harry Hello Harry, buffers in halfround and flat (over here, on one side of the car/engine the buffer is flat, the other is ...

A day to remember
Hello,
today, april 4th, it's 5 years ago, that my friend Rudy van Wingen of Como Roundhouse Products lost the battle and passed away.
Although we had our first personal contact in 2000 for the IBLS-run, everytime we met we had a good time.
Rudy, I miss you.

Re: Bobber Caboose
Hello Tom, that's Tamyia (the plastic kit manufacturer), who has the colors. And you have to look for their range of translucent paints. Laurie McLean from Australia just had switched from Hon3 to On3 and is busy working on models with action and lights. He uses the translucent paints to paint the C...

Re: 4" Scale Darjeeling B-Class engine project
Sorry, I cannot tell anything more about the engine. It belongs to Rudi Erteld, who is a member of the Bockerlbahner, a backyard railroad in southern germany and far away from my home. The engines are also featured in the roster of their webite under http://www.diebockerlbahner.de/dampfloks.html And...

Re: Cab light fixtures
I have a similar fixture in my 3" scale switcher, but never had such an experience. And this engine operated a couple of hundred miles during the Sinsheim-indoor-shows in the past, and the track was sometimes really rough and worn out. With a 2 axle engine, their was a lot of rocking and shakin...

Re: 4" Scale Darjeeling B-Class engine project
BTW, their is a scale model running over here in Germany on 7.25" gauge. The builder is for profession a wood-worker, but is brave enough to finish a 3 3/4" scale 2-truck shay in the meantime. Attached is a photo of the Darjeeling and of the shay, as it looked in 2008. Today it's in runnin...

Re: New year, new project...restoring a 'Wendy'
Sorry, no chance in 2011. I just had a teeth-surgery in november, where 4 teeth where removed (under full anesthesia on my own request - and it was a good idea) and will get two new teeth somewhere in february or march. And the cost, I have to pay by my own, will be more than I would need for a trip...

Re: New year, new project...restoring a 'Wendy'
Thank's Mike for the link to the video. Yes, Jeff's Wendy runs like a suisse clock, compared to the leading engine. Also, your video brings back old memories and add's a lot more pressure to the wish to return "home" for me. The steam-gauge will look absolute great in the new cab, similar ...

Re: New year, new project...restoring a 'Wendy'
Hello Mike, I'm glad, that this engine found a good new home. I once had thought about buying it for running, when I'm over in the US, but as I saw it running 2009 at BC&W, I was happy, that I didn't bought it. I was very disappointed to hear it running and nobody took care about the bad sound o...

Hello,
I remembered, that I saw an ad on discoverlivesteam.com.
Go to http://www.discoverlivesteam.com/forsal ... otive.html and in the lower section you will find 2.5" scale archbar trucks. Search the page for "Arched-Bar Trucks"

Re: Actual Battery Capacity on 7.5" scale operation.
Hello, it's not so easy to calculate, because the draw depends on the load of the train and the grades. As I was building my Speeder for the 2003 triennial, I tryed to find out, how much battery-capacity I need. Because no one was able to answer that question, I designed the Speeder as gas-electric,...
