I'm of the school that has had several leaks, both plain and aerosol. Took a while, but over the years the cans rust out. I have cans with other chemicals, I think the Dykem's are the worst!

"Is it reasonable to assume the sand dome(s) are too cold to show at all, or is this an odd loco, or???" Sand domes are not cold. They are at least uninsulated from the boiler or have a steam coil in them to dry the sand. Wet sand is pretty useless. On the outside are steam actuated valves...

I've been trying to figure out what this head is (came on a small Diamond horizontal mill) The mill came to me from Glendale. Could this be a Fray Type B head? Shares some features with a Type C head on a Fray in Tony's UK Lathe page.

I just worked with Leeson to come up with a line of motors with no shaft extension. The motor shaft is bored 0.500" ID x 1.5" deep with a 0.125" keyway broached. There is a 1.5" reference ring and an SAE 4 bolt pump mount bolting face. Allows me to bolt a hydraulic pump directly ...
