Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Jason, If this is your `First` loco, it would sure fool me by the looks of what you`re doing. I guess by the steel frame measures it IS heavy. Hope your back gets Much better to handle this when finished. May I ask what you will be using for a motor, controller and battery voltage. OH, and what is ...

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Over the last few days since I have been home from work bored off my rear end with a back injury. I have toyed with the chassis here and there with the assistance of my lovely wife. She did most of the chassis moving and positioning so I could do what I needed or wanted from a chair. The chassis is ...

Here are a few pics of the axle and journal dry fittings. Chassis scheduled to be welded up after work tomorrow. Think I had the journals upside down in the pics but nothing is permanent, lol.

Re: Bitter Creek President's Day Meet
Awesome pictures as always Mike. The one of me and my daughter is awesome. That is the first time she has ever rode with me on a tender while I was firing a loco. Incidentally that was also the longest I have ever run 41, lol. Well tried to upload some pics but wouldn't take from the phone. Will try...

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Received the next 2 packages of parts from Chris Friday while I was playing trains at the BCWRR presidents run weekend. Got in the axles, wheels, sprockets, journals, bearings, gear box assembly, and cab doors. Can't wait to get the chassis on its wheels!

Here are some pics of where today has gotten me. Started this morning and after a few glitches on my end getting used to the new equipment things seemed to have turned out pretty good for my first project.

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Just picked up my new drill press so once assembled I can begin rolling at a more steady pace. No more scheduling conflicts or work issues to slow me down .

Re: New Project GE 23T Boxcab in 1.5" scale.
Got some drilling done today on the chassis side plates. Had to sort out some issues with the drill press at my dad's and get a proper X/Y vise for the press. Hoping this week to get a floor model press of my own so I can do this stuff at home when time allows rather than waiting for a day when me a...
