Re: Checking Timing on LE American? - CONFUSED!!!
Ok Dianne, you will need to take the valve covers off to time the engine properly. With the cover off put the engine in full forward and roll or rotate one side into the top dead center position. Look where the slide valve is located, you should have the slide valve just bearly start to show the adm...

Re: Paint mask question
Adam, another trick with small paint mask is to have the cut the mask but tell them not to weed out the background. Apply the paint mask as a whole then weed out the background. I have done this method before with much success.

I also agree with Chris about where to place the baffle plate but add a hole to help with secondary combustion. Also what are you setting the regulator on the t...

Re: my project
Pam, why not try a quick coat of black paint from a cheap rattle can of paint to see if you like it. Afterwards just soak them in some acetone to remove the paint.

Re: 12v battery sizes
John, one thing to think of is when you have to replace the batteries. A group 24,27,and 29 are very common sizes that can be found at most stores. Some of the other group sizes might have to be ordered or visit multiple shops to get all you need.

Re: Lackawanna Hudson
As Mike has stated there are several different grades of "Bondo". Bondo is a catch all term kind of like Kleneex, but it is an actual brand. The proper name for the product is called Poly Filler. Make sure you sand the base metal first before applying to allow for better bonding. If you ne...

Re: what paint is everyone using?
Greg, all automotive sovlent based paint has isocyanate in it. A good respirator is recommended, make sure yours fits properly. While a positive pressure full face is ideal, you can get by with a half face with organic cartridges as long as you are shooting out in the open. As for paints just get so...
