Never heard of a synchronous motor being anything but a synchronous motor, or a non synchronos motor becoming synchronous.
I have a slew of 1800 rpm sycnronous motors that wouldn't be worth spit if they didn't stay at 1800 prm.

A short time ago I lookes for RGD (or is it RDG) tools in the UK. Not all taps are always available, but they were inexpensive. BTW, I bought a 1/2 10 acme 2 weeks ago from MSC. Import, turned out to be China, but it worked fine. $65.00? plus the ride.

any other suggestions on what kind of ignition and fuel system this might have had would be appreciated. Also, there was some kind of resilient spacer between the rod / cap. Any idea of what the material is, or what to replace it with?

Penetrating oil and some evaporust and some hammerblows with a brass drift removed it. The piston looks good, with only a little scoring. Rings came off ...

well, not much else to do than wait to swap. Wish could have been more helpful. There are many times I get stuck, so don't feel bad. On another track, how much gold is there in a pc? Can you "unplate" things to get the gold?
