Re: 2.5" Scale C-19 in Process
The image is getting too big to post here, so I moved it to Flickr. Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/41428530@N03/11863963105/
Still have a few hundred parts left to draw however.
It would be nice to have copies of those full size C-19 drawings that Loco112 has been searching for.

2.5" Scale C-19 in Process
Started out redrawing all the parts for a C-19 to be built from Dave Conway's castings & drawings. They're currently available from Ridgeway Roundhouse.

Surprised there isn't a group set up to redraw and share his parts in 3D for the CNC builders.

Check this website
https://www.valleyhydraulic.com
as they sell quick disconnects for propane. If you don't see what you want, give them a call.

Re: Kozo Hiraoka K-27 engine
if you mean 2.5" scale on 7.5" gauge track, yes I suspect several. As Kozo tends to fabricate quite a bit, CAD plans could be very useful.RICHK wrote:I would like to know how many builders would like to have a set of plans in 1-1/2" scale based on the original drawings.

Re: Kozo Hiraoka K-27 engine
In the March 1973 & June 1973 issues of Model Railroader there is a nice set of drawings for K-27's D&RGW 453 & RGS #461 in 1:48 scale as comparison. The issues may be available online or at your local swap meet.

Re: Kozo Hiraoka K-27 engine
I wonder if Live Steam will release the drawings in CAD format for subscribers? If not that could be an interesting shared effort.

Re: Kozo Hiraoka K-27 engine
I'm hoping Kozo includes some additional engineering work for those who desire to scale up like he's done with his other designs. Such as a boiler design for 2.5" scale, etc. Either way I can't wait for the series to start, whether I ever build one or not.

Hopefully it won't be too hard to scale up to 2.5" to the foot.

Re: 3 D printer for those bigger projects
I was looking at a pattern for a part of a Full Size G-6 air brake valve made on a 3-d printer over the weekend. It basically looked perfect. Its headed to the foundry next. The technology will get there. Its just in the early stages right now. Imagine it 20-30 years from now and I wouldn't be surpr...
