Re: CSME Double Tracking Progress
So here are some more pics; mostly on the Eagle Point end of the loop. While I was in Japan, Chirs and the gang got a lot of work completed. Things are shaping up and I am optimistic this will all be complete by the CSME 2020 Spring Meet. Do hope you all will join us for the meet and take a look. JP

Re: CSME Double Tracking Progress
We're off and running again. Started the demo work on the EP - Summit Main section. Since this pic was taken we have put about 1/3 of main #1 back in. Should have it all done by Spring meet. Come and see.

Re: Signal Complexity
So time for another update...
Last month made it out to the track and upgraded the signal heads and relay brain on the signal bridge. Pictures came out nice with the fog rolling in.

Re: Little Engines Wendy?
Does anyone know how different the designs are between the two available model?
Is Sweet William (Jack Buckler design) the same thing as the MEG (Dougal Hubner design). They look very similar. Save valve gear and such.

Re: Oil burning boiler mods
Brian, For your Allen 4-6-0 I would recommend you put a steam rated ball valve in the dome instead of a smokebox throttle. I recently did a throttle job on Chris's 0-4-0; replaced the original LE or RSC smokebox throttle with a ball valve in an 8" boiler Smokebox. Getting it all in it was a rea...

Throttle / Regulator
Are there any throttles on modern steam engines that actually regulate pressure to the steam line / chest? That is when the throttle is open to half way you get 40 lbs of pressure whether the engine (cylinder and motion group) moves or not. Allow me to elaborate.... I just returned from Europe / Rus...

Naaa...... We have trees and mountains up here.
Post some pictures of the logging branch at Ridge.
We'll probably setup again during the fall meet. Depends on donkey & shay availability... Always room for more. Drop me an email if you want to be notified.

Got Logs? 2019 July 4 Logging action at CSME
Like any project, things get better with patience and persistence.... Over the 4th July week Rodney, Jeff, Ron and myself worked diligently on the logging operation at CSME. This year the logging company took lease of the Monteagle Valley and the abandoned industry spur that was used to build the br...

Re: Suspension problems
Along those same lines, I believe the first superpower Bershires had greased friction plates on the trailing truck instead of heart rockers... At least that is the way I interpreted in the book. It would probably at the simplest application given our models and issues with loading, unloading, track, ...

Re: Signal Complexity
Yes, well this is why industrial electrical codes (NFPA, NEC, Etc.) requires safety things like redundant mechanical devices (IE control relays), severing of power for emergency applications (stop and etsop break the power), and intrinsically safe design of the circuit (a correct Robinson detection ...

Re: Signal Complexity
Buckets are a temporary electrical cabinet for the relay board. (pictured earlier) This system uses led trailer marker lights. Best part is they are water proof. You have to take the head off to disconnect / reconnect when changing them out. Two screws pretty easy. The relays are not any more or les...
