Re: Locomotives instead of backs and fannies
Mike, is right about having a water sensor light, there is a sureflow pumped hooked up to switch to fill the boiler. I know the controls are connected with motorcycle cables to control the throttle. As for fuel he fires it on propane.

Re: How do you paint aluminum?
Dave, it was one of two things either the respirator was not fitted properly or the cartridges were used up. And yes Isocynate is some nasty stuff. The reason why Imron is no longer avalible is because of how VOC laws changed. They do still make it but the formula is ureathane based now. Most paints...

Re: Brass Filler Meterial Before Paint
You can apply the polyfiller (Bondo) after you apply a good etching primer. Another option is if the scratches are small enough, you can use a primer surfacer over the etching primer, you will have to sand the surfacer primer down.

Re: Attaching bushings to boiler
Harry, the point I was refering to about the solder on the boiler is that since the mounts were small they heated right up to cherry red and the boiler was acting like a heat sink and taking the heat away so I could not get it cherry to get the solder to flow just right. I will use the t shaped spig...

Attaching bushings to boiler
I have a couple of questions on the best way to attach bushing to a copper boiler. First question, which would be the better way to make bushings to go on the boiler? The plans call out for flat bushing, think rough shape of a thick washer silver soildered to the outside of the boiler then drilled a...

Re: Bitter Creek Western President's Day
Chris, the hard part would be the drive down there. She ended up with a plate about 6-7" long and 9 screws. She had broken her leg in three places plus she had a lot of soft tissue damage in her other foot.
