At LALS the 7 1/2 track is steel rail, and we reverse direction every 6 months so the rail wear , and i presume, the wheel wear is even. As to ties, we use plastic. Some of the wood ties on the 1 inch layout are over 60 years old.

The problem with Brennen Oil is you can only get it in 5 gallon size. Nothing smaller. I am almost tempted to ask them to be a West Coast Distributor, and package them in 1 gallon size....

It wouldn't have been the first MU cable that was bad order :D I've been looking at the manual, and it looks to me like all I'll have to do, after I change the DIP switches, is reverse the polarity to my pot and reverse switch. I can do that easy, by switching the two wires between the controller an...

Bob, was not running, just hooking up my throttle. Must have been a short somewhere. I use a DIN connector on the back of the locomotive.

It was a SyRen 25. The main chip went poof quite spectacularly. I was following a diagram that another member of the club did. His did not blow. If I stay with DE, it will be the SyRen 50 next time. I may also go with 4QD

Mike, I assume that the reverse switch is wired to S1. I will look at my set up and see what I have done wrong. Also, what is the resistor value for the battery level indicator ?
