How to get a hold of the owner of Tom Bee?
I placed a order for brake valves 3 weeks ago and my credit card was charged at that time. I have been trying to get a hold of the owner for the past week with no return call to my messages to find out when I can expect the valves. Anybody know what is going on?

Re: West Valley electric locomotive
Gary,
I have the pattern for the wheels. I would have to get them cast as the 24 I just got from the foundry I am using. I will have to see what they cost.

Re: West Valley electric locomotive
I built one last winter and am presently building 3 more. I was able to obtain a set of plans from a friend. I made patterns for the journal boxes, wheels and bolsters. I also have the auto-cad drawings presently at the laser cutters doing 3 bodies for me with all the rivet holes laser cut along wit...

Re: Way OT, recommend a good refrigerator...
Greg, We bought a new refrigerator a couple years ago just because Judy wanted a new one, you probably know how that is. The local appliance store owner told us that none of the new refrigerators would last more than 7 or 8 years no matter what we bought. Our old one was a side by side but she wante...

Re: Source for Steel L smaller tha 1/2 x 1/2
I just finished up a covered hopper car where I needed some 3/8 angle. Bought 3/4 square x .049 tubing and cut it diagonally on the band saw and then cut it to the 3/8 dimension on the table saw using a steel cutting blade. Looks a lot more to scale than taking 1/2 x 1/8 angle and cutting it down to...

Re: Pump o-rings
O-ring mfgs. will usually have a chart, Sterling for one, showing the dimensions for O-rings. Different dimensions for static and dynamic. A 3/4" O-ring will be over that size to fit properly into a 3/4" bore.

Re: 7" schedule 40 tube
7" schedule 40 pipe isn't made. Schedule 40 6" pipe has a 6 5/8" OD. For an exact 7" you will have to go to some type of tubing.

Re: Restored 2-4-4-2
I built my 1 1/2" scale model of the Shookum a little over 30 years ago and have put a lot of miles on it. I can operate it simple or compound and you can see the difference between the two operating methods. In simple you will slip the front drivers under load and in compound it will slip the ...
