Re: Berkshire Trailing Truck Axle boxes

Very very nice looking castings. Looks like you have a top quality pattern and a foundry that knows how to make a mold properly, as well as pour a fine casting! No visible mold shift. No parting ram offs. These will function as good as they look!!!!

Re: Driver Casting Repro

Challenge 95 release from BJB Enterprises in Tustin, Ca works as it's supposed to in a Patternshop environment. Must dry completely before any plastic is poured against it. Lacquer sanding sealer is far better than paint as a sealer for the wood or plastic pattern. Proper draft and smoothness of pat...

Re: Little engines 1" line of engines

Well said! For those who think a supplier should have $250,000 of castings and supplies / parts laying around just waiting for a few people to finally decide they want $10 worth of "stuff" had better check reality. Might be best for the complainers to equip a Patternshop. Learn how to make...

Re: Axle pump feed water

If memory serves I think The Machinery Works (Howard Gorin) has replacement parts for Olenkamp injectors. Dave Bortz at Superscale would be the person to contact about availability of injector parts for Superscale injectors.

Re: Plumbing a lubricator

If you are lubricating the driving cylinders you will most likely want a mechanical lubricator. If you have a steam pump you would use a displacement type lubricator. Mechanical lubricators are connected to valve rods or eccentrics mostly. The lube line is then attached to the steam input before it ...

Re: Waterproof Glue For A Coal Load

Mix lampblack with the brown waterproof glue until it kind of matches the color of the coal. We used to mix lampblack with all kinds of plastics such as epoxy and it did not seem to affect the cure time or hardness too much. It certainly blackened up the parent plastic though.

Re: Marker light lenses- availability and sizes?

Try calling Joe Ed as he might sell the lenses separately from his lamps. Previous post pasted below.
