There is a good chance is the 611 is in Spencer for the spring. the museum may do a hands on throttle like they did last summer. I will let all know as I find out more on the 611s future Michael

Boiler stays are serious business. The only welding on a full scale boiler is only allowed on a stayed area or flue sheet. The stays carry any weakness in the side sheets or crown sheet. Perhaps member Steamchris (on this forum) could help with your question. He has built a Y6b version of this locomotive.

Folks , I have no experience with stainless boilers except one. A boiler inspector in the state of VA. told me he would never pass a boiler that he would inspect made of stainless.
