Re: Florida Winter Meets
Tim, My Wife and I would like to add to what you said about the "Additions". One of the Great improvements for creature comfort were the drop down curtains-tarps for the main dining / registration area building. I`m sure many out of stater`s don`t know how cold and windy it can get here in...

Re: Radio Control for an RMI engine?
JohnB,
Feb. 12th till now, haven`t you been to the Bostwick track yet. You could see in person the RC systems some of the guys there use. I believe they are quite simple and In-expensive compared to others.

Re: New 1/8th scale supplier--was MCC ??
Sounds like tings might be on the right track (pun intent). Good for you Rnald. Wow! I sent Mike at Titan Trains the form inquiring about my order this morning, and he replied this afternoon. With MCC, if you sent an inquiry about an old order, you maybe would hear from him in a week or more, if at ...

Re: New 1/8th scale supplier--was MCC ??
Sorry you have a problem with Mtn. Car Ronald. I`m just a guy in the hobby like you all, passing on some news I received As an Occasional purchaser of MCC trucks. I think the person "Michael", is just the "office manager" per the notice. In any event, it might be a nice idea to s...

Re: railroad ties
Yeh Dick Morris, Creosote would be pretty good, can`t get it here either-US. But, so would the OLD treatment chemicals be IF you could get ties treated from a place that does it for piers, docks, sea walls and I think farms. Heavy "in ground" treatment better than what you buy now from big...

Re: railroad ties
Paul, It was mentioned the desire for your club to save money. First, I wonder if the club has tried to get Sponsors for any materials and, can you get (or buy) things through the city at low prices. Question for general info for, or what others do. ------Does anyone in your club work in a Sheet Met...

Re: Fake coal load
Better not use regular Spray can paint "lacquer", I found it could Melt the Styrofoam. You might try to find the more Course stuff that is used in Cigarette (smoking) trash containers. It is more course and a "Little" larger than kitty litter / clean sweep absorbent materials. I ...

Re: Crating a lil Gasser available in the DFW area?
Sorry the buyer backed out Dick. And thank you for your reply. The other thing I should have mentioned is--in case of other sale--you might need a piece of Masonite or thin plywood on the bottom so wheels would not chance to cut through the cardboard. Wish you success in the future. chooch Hey Chooc...

Re: railroad ties
Paul, I have to ask Why you need a groove for "tie plates"? Don`t they go on top of a tie fastened down with the rail also. Are the plates more to help hold the rail or more for looks. I haven`t seen tie plates used on the several tracks in central Florida. Just rail screwed down. Could yo...

Re: Crating a lil Gasser available in the DFW area?
No replies yet? Then I`ll give it a try. Go to the Large box stores like Lowe`s / Home Depot and ask about large cardboard boxes. As for home generators, lawn mowers, appliances etc. Try to talk to the one in charge of disposal (outside work area). They might be able to help you with Packing / shipp...

Re: Radio Control for an RMI engine?
John, I can`t answer your question but, if you are going to the winter meets, ask around for Bill Matson, usually runs two green P Cove boxcabs. I think named Newall and Rocky River. Bill and Several guys of the NEFLS (Bostwick)group run a pretty simple and inexpensive system that runs good. Bill al...
