Re: Suspension problems

I need suggestions. I read all these tips on what the weight distribution should be but I see no solutions. Does anyone have a LE Atlantic or Pacific that ran into these problems and found a solution? I found that when I softened the springs on the lead truck the locomotive sagged forward, This made...

Re: Suspension problems

I have a LE Pacific and it has the same issues as the LE Atlantic. Before I put the boiler on my LE Pacific I noticed that the front and rear truck carried most of the weight and the drivers barely contacted the rails. When the loco was rolled forward and then backwards, the drivers would skid rathe...

Re: Suspension problems

All these pointers on suspension are great except, the front truck is not equalized onto the Atlantic drivers. It is a 4-4-2. The front truck is independent. All the equalization travels from the drivers to the trailing truck. My LE Pacific has the same problems as the LE Atlantic. The equalization ...

Re: Tom bee

The customer is out of their mind without the coffee. In the 34 years of business, I have let 2 customers run out of coffee. The customer did not care about the troubles I had keeping their brand in stock. The customer did not care about any excuses. I went to the competitions location and purchased...

Re: Tom bee

Business is Business...... I will give an example. My company is 43 years young. It will stay young as long as I provide a service that meets the demands of my customer. My customer does not care about all the issues I encounter running my business. The customer has a need and wants that need met. I...

Re: Tom bee

Business is Business. When there is a great demand for a product, the business market will usually step up and supply the demand and make a profit. Honesty and transparency is rule one. When demand is greater than the supply, the business professionally lets the customer know when the demand can be ...

Re: Women in the hobby?

I have a sister that is involved with the Fire Up 611 Program. I included her in all my train chases and live steam events since she was 6 years old. Now it is in her blood. Maybe some of you will have seen her in the fire mans seat on the 611. Does she ever get dirty and sooty. She is not involved ...

Re: small amounts of o-rings s/s balls etc

I buy all my O-rings at Napa. They have a large stock of most sizes and will sell you one O-ring if you need just that one.

Re: Power Reverser questions

The full sized locomotives used air on the power reverse. As the "Johnson Bar" is easily and slowly eased into reverse or forward the power reverser will catch up to the motion of the lever. Once the lever ("Johnson Bar") is eased into the desired position the power reverse locks...

Re: Power Reverser questions

This is a very good point made by Steve. Since I operate my power reverser on boiler water, there still is water in the reverser cylinder during a boiler blow down. While there is little water in the boiler and lots of steam pressure, I run the reverser into forward and reverse to blow out the water...
