There is a Restoration Feasibility Investigation for the 'Glenbrook' prepared by Short Line Enterprises. I believe it is out of print but the NSRM Bookstore may have it reprinted. It is very thorough. Drawings in the investigation by Frederic (Cap) Shaw (also in the book 'Oil Lamps' and Iron Ponies'...

Clearing out the garage. These probably came from a Los Angeles Live Steamers President's auction. Too cheap to not to pick up, but what are they from? Can any one identify these and what loco? Valve frame/motion plates(?), rear cylinder cover/cross head guides, rocker boxes... 20190716_122828 small...

Points out that locks alone won't save you. Cameras and motion detectors feeding a solid alarm system are what's needed. This took awhile and it looks like they had plenty of time to pull it off. Alarm response would have saved them.

All the locomotive journal boxes of that period that I have seen have rectangular cotter holes (V&T and on the Glenbrook).

Here is the Central Pacific built V&T #18 'Dayton'. Note the lead truck swing links bars...
