Well I do remember him saying that he didn't like my arrowheads.

Re: A question about engineering drawings....
Like Bruce and Lew, I frequently just use a pencil. Back about 1957 I took a 10-week drafting class in junior high. I think I got a B. Here are a couple of mine from last week:

Re: A question about engineering drawings....
The 2-D program I use for the Mac is Cadintosh, for the outrageous sum of $32. And the guy that wrote it answers users emails himself! It works just great for 2-D. And for this pump project, I think you need to be the horologist. Lots of parts that have to align else it won't work. One of the first ...

Re: A question about engineering drawings....
.... It’s for me, not Atlas Copco, so THBBBBBT on industry standards! :) Me, too. I have an inexpensive 2-D program for my Mac that works great. I rarely draw parts but mostly use it to solve geometry problems on a specific part or to verify a dimension. I don't often draw but when I do it's in the...

Re: A question about engineering drawings....
This is only view of one part of about 20 parts on a single sheet with multiple views of each part. The arrowed notes for some of the parts frequently extend into what I would call the graphic space of another part, making it very cluttered and hard to follow. To make this gadget I photographed each...

Ah, Warmstrong, that makes a lot of sense. Different views based on the operations.

Re: A question about engineering drawings....
.... All because of 2 arrows crossing on a dark crease on a dark piece of paper. What's left of my memory seems to think that there once was a problem with a space telescope (Hubble?) or satellite of some sort wherein a dimension was specified on one sheet in imperial dimensions and on another in m...

Re: A question about engineering drawings....
... my friend who builds model steam engines from other's drawings has shown us some horrifying examples of drawings not made by a professional drafter. --earlgo The drawing in question looks like it was made by someone who might have taken a beginning drawing class in high school. It's close but d...

A question about engineering drawings....
I've got a drawing from a commercial source that is cluttered with data. So many arrows and dimension call-outs that it's hard to read. So I'm wondering if there is any protocol about putting two drawings of the same view on the sheet, one perhaps labeled VIEW 1A and the other VIEW 1B or similar, wi...

Re: Built up cylinder sealing
Post #2 above, by Bill, points at another solution: just run it that way and let it rust shut. With such a tight gap, I can't think there would be much loss anyway.

Re: Nylatron Bushing Use
Is this the same or similar to PEEK HPV? Which, BTW, is dreadfully expensive.
