Re: 3/4" Scale J1e
Hello Jack, just jewels :) By the way, I used 1.5 mm / M 2 tread for my smalest valves of size 1 mm - nearly similar to yours. When you start with the parts for your water gauges, please think of making them from bronze rather then brass  Brass will be prone to be destroyed by the water due to...

Re: 3/4" Scale J1e
Hello Jack,
Almost unbelievable your precise miniature piping and valves
The only thing I hate is to remove and refurbish all those parts in case of heavy boiler repairs Hope you won't ever experience that (which I didn't )
Like your precise work very much!

Re: My N&W class A 1239 (gauge 5", 1 in 10 scale)
Andy, Dick and Jack, Thank you all! Andy, you are right, the equilization will be supportet by just 4 points to the truck frame. The total load will be distributed to all 6 wheels equaliy, yet. The people from Roanoke found this construction superior to the standard Commonwealth design at higher spe...

Re: My N&W class A 1239 (gauge 5", 1 in 10 scale)
Hello friends of the N&W, Today was fine to me for I could assamble all the parts to built a complete tender truck for the first time :D . Just the right wheel sets are still missing. Will be built soon, too. The cross bars are bolted rather than welded in favour of better access (for adding in ...

Re: My N&W class A 1239 (gauge 5", 1 in 10 scale)
Hello Herold, You're right, those springs are pretty stiff! The dimensions are scaled down from the prototype for better looks, no matter regarding their stiffness. Stiffness of all the springs is about 2 mm (1/16 ") from no load to full. But look, as long there is a full equilisation :!: betwe...

Re: My N&W class A 1239 (gauge 5", 1 in 10 scale)
Hello friends, Time to post some parts for the T 95 tender trucks I finished recently. All parts for the spring rigging are finished now, which took some time. Carefully construction was necessary to ensure all parts may be inserted inside the hollow frame and make them work as intended. The inner s...

Hello Jack, Looking great 8) . But so sad this item will be placed at one of both the darkest and dirtyest places of your locomotive :( . Almost not anybody will even detect this jewelry, once it`s mounted under the cab - same as with the stoker engine! Anyway, we who watch permanently your topic 3/...

Hello Greg, Thank you for your precise documentation :!: of the cost of our hobby! Believe me, it's the same story here in Europe, too. My personal calculation goes similar to your's: In case my shop work would be worth much less than about 5 Euro per hour, I'll look for available parts to be produc...
