At one time you could purchase #4 frogs from Cannonball Ltd.. But they have pretty much shutdown. RMI shows them but they are machined steel and are pricy. Or you can make one our of rail. I will get a picture of one at Ridge Live Steamers.

Re: Wye Switch Frog Number
For a 50’ radius into a Wye switch I would use a #4 frog.

Re: Two one-lung pump questions
Viton shines when it comes to chemical and heat resistance. It's also got a good mechanical strength. But, it's not as flexible as Silicone, especially at lower temperatures, and it can be more expensive.

Re: Two one-lung pump questions
Please remember that a reamed hole is not round and will most likely be oversized. Invest in some laps. They are not expressive.

Re: Prototype Poppet Valve Throttle
I think I called the Throttle valve type by the wrong name. Here is the drawing for the valve. Can it be scaled and work?

Re: CNW J class Mikado
I have started to drill holes in the main crank pin. There are two for cotter pins to hold the nuts from coming loose. I still have to drill the grease cross holes.

Re: CNW J class Mikado
Hi John
I was so fixed on machining the axle first I did not think of doing it in a different order. I already have the axles machined to length and center/grease hole drilled with a 60 degree center at each end.

Re: CNW J class Mikado
I drilled 3/8" holes through the axles as per the prototype and will bolt the square blocks to the ends so I can quarter the keyways in the axles. I am using the standard right hand lead.
