I expect to be there with my Reading A5a. Hoping to run double-headers with Jim Mardiguian once more.

Re: How do you paint aluminum?
Just a guess, but consider giving it 5 - 10 minute bath in white vinegar, then a thorough wash with warm water and detergent, then warm fresh water. I tried this with some aluminum castings and it seems to have a positive effect on painting. Purely an experiment.

Re: UP 9000
If you are building a U.P. 9000 class, where can you run it? I love big and unusual live steam models, but I would have to do a double-take on a 4-12-2 . More power to you, in any case.

Re: Long Island ALCO Century 420 in construction.
August 02, and I'm afraid she won't get to run this season. I need the trucks completed and get the motors installed, plus the correct wheels, axles, and gearing. I shouldn't complain as I am relying on a number of friends to help me, and each has his own life! Here you see, and probably can barely ...

Re: 1-1/2" Scale Locomotive Marker Lamps
May I suggest to anyone looking for marker or headlight illumination, https://www.oznium.com/ ?
They offer pre-soldered LED's, from normal to extra-bright, and working of 12 volts or other supplies. I'm very impressed.

Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster at Ridge L.S. in 2012?
I noticed a beautiful H24-66 Trainmaster in CNR colors, in a Youtube video of the Ridge Live Steamers meet, in Spring, 2012. I'd like to know more about the locomotive, construction, power system, etc. Can somebody direct me to its owner? Are there any other FM car body Diesels out there in 1.5 scale?

Re: Getting one back!
How you associate the locomotive with the original owner, or how much time of your own life you've shared with your creation, and building live steam is very much like birthing a breathing machine, I think your affection to the locomotive is understandable. If the locomotive is merely a machine to u...
