Re: Gauging interest... Copper Tube

Mike, how much do you need? I have a piece that is almost 8' long. It's buried at the moment. I'll dig it out and get an accurate measurement next week.

There have been several threads on Facebook recently showing 148 in New Jersey and New England.

Re: US Sugar 148

A group of live steamers rode the Lake Placid Local Sunday and had a great time! I was joined by Bill Bryan and Beth Bagley from Georgia. We were joined by six people from the New Jersey Live Steamers - Gary, Cathy, and Adam Madlinger, Tom Battle, Doug Pyatt, and Paul Preuss. We rode the baggage car...

US Sugar 148

I will be riding behind 148 on the noon train from Lake Placid FL on Sunday Feb. 26. I would like to chase the later trains. Anyone have any advice on how to follow the train?

Re: Live Steam Article on Modeling Scales

In it he compares 2" scale models to 2.5" scale models.
Could this be the article you're looking for?

I don't think it's worth it. In fact, I don't see how flaring the end will keep the tube from growing. I have tried several ways of fastening tubes - silver soldering, swedging, urethane expanders. I now use a commercial roller with lubricant and leave them as rolled. I roll them as lightly as I can...

Re: Building Allen Models 0 4 0 Yard Engine

I used the Consolidation drivers for the 0-4-0. I used the Mogul cylinders and valve gear, the cab from the American,
and the domes from Chloe. I did design a new boiler.

Re: Building Allen Models 0 4 0 Yard Engine

I have located the flash drive where I saved the pictures I took of the construction of the first Allen 0-4-0. If there is a particular part you'd like to see let me know.
