A Romulus from Enos Yoder - NO LONGER FOR SALE

SALE PRICE AS OF JUNE 22: $6,000. Here’s a great chance to obtain a 7 ½”-gauge locomotive built by well-known craftsman Enos Yoder of Sarasota, FL. He built most or all of 17 locomotives and traction engines – this is #14. There won’t be any more - Enos is 88 years old. Assuming a 24”-gauge for the ...

Re: A question for the 3/4 scale guys.

Yes, Keith, thank you! I was aware that 2 1/2" locos are pulling larger-scale riding cars. There are some neat videos of these tiny steamers pulling humans on the British "3/4 and Smaller" Facebook page. Even 2 1/2" is far from dead in the UK. Looks like Dave Barker is a very goo...

Re: A question for the 3/4 scale guys.

A few things I find good about ¾“: 1. There’s a lot out there somewhere. I have begun a log of existing ¾” steam locomotives. You will find it on the IBLS website. I’m presently at around 220 locos and I’m only scratching the surface. What strikes me is the vast number of locos presently at unknown ...

Re: Attention all 3.5" steamers!

Friends –

I just sent out the latest version of my directory on 3.5“-gauge steam locomotives. We now have 92 entries – only 908 to go! Anyone who wants the list should send me their email address: “kant50(at)web(dot)de”.

A start has been made - directory ready

Dear friends on Chaski: I have a directory in two files listing 49 locos as a start. If you want the files, please send me your email. They’re PDF’s and are too big as attachments on this forum. I may yet put the files on the IBLS website. Feel free to distribute. Cheers, Bill Yoder kant50(at)web(do...

Re: 3/4" Scale Box Cars

Dear Steve! What a fantastic project! The usual prices for metal parts are now high enough to scare 90% of the candidates away from the hobby. I too have been dreaming of plastic cars without riders and hope to have at least four passenger cars behind my 4-4-0: an express reefer, an RPO/baggage car ...

Re: Attention all 3.5" steamers!

Yes, Fred, I should probably do that, too!

How silly that I had forgotten the 23 or so pages of 3/4" steam already described on this site! I guess I should incorporate them into my list.

Attention all 3.5" steamers!

12 July in Moscow Dear friends: I have taken up the suggestion from good people on the “3 ½ “ Gauge Railroading” Facebook page to create a register/directory of all 3.5” gauge model steam locomotives. Even if I only add one loco per day, we should still have a good number filed within two years. If ...

Re: Alva Trook's Track

This brings back memories. I was at this track for the summer meet in 1958, I believe. That was along with my Dad, Enos Yoder. He should still have an 8 mm movie of that visit. The scenes included a spiffy, C&NW-style 4-4-2 as well as a PRR K4. Would anyone have some still photos to share here? ...

Customs costs at the border

Friends - What do you think the customs people will do with me if I bring along a 3/4" Virginia 4-4-0 to the States at the end of 2015? I would be coming from Germany by air and have the loco as a carry-on or as a fragile shipment. I won't bring the tender along. I want to do some work on it du...
