Re Russ's boat

He brought it buy the PVLS summer meet, it is very well done. It is a real bueaty. The olny issue he had ovserved about the set up was he had confused the throtle valve wheel with the steering wheel a time or two.

Hey, dry cotton is a resonable insulator, but the moment it gets damp it is very poor. It is acutally possible to get a lot more heat loss through wet wicking insulation then on a bare pipe that the mositiure drips off of. This is form real engineering experance. Also wet insulation can cause a lot ...

Heat up the forge and get out the anvil, look inot horse sho

You could always make them the old fashioned way with with anvil and forge form square rod stock. LOL. You might try looking for horse shoeing suplies, they use square nails there and with a little grinding you might get a good loing spike out them. Or if you got a laser cutter or water jet cutter a...

Thanks for the info about the cut off blade

I was not aware they were made for that machine spindle size, It looks like a very cost efective additon for use on the surface grinder.

I am using a old 9"lathe (1927 SBL), it is a heavier bed then the well know 9" models made form the mid 30"s and on. For 4" or smaller wheels 1) clamp an extra thick casting or blank in a 6" 4 jaw backside out, face it flat and finish the flange flange od to about .010 over ...

I know a saw an add for both a complet tool and two tools. The single tool was heavy duty lathes and the tow tool set was for lighter duty lathes and did the tread side with one bit and the flange side of the wheel with the second bit.

If I come across it I will send it, Rob

RE: Corrections

What is often ment as corrected prits are the additions, corrections and changes the engine builder makes as he builds the model. Some are corrections to mistakes found, some are the actual tolerances or dime...

If you find out what is the most popular amoung fitting suppliers in the US, will you please post it.

Maybe a letter to Live Stram magazine would get some reply. or get them to do a survey of supliers.
