1" Scale Little Engines 0-4-0 or 0-6-0 parts

Hi, Working on my 0-4-0, I've decided to reach out and see if anyone has parts or partially completed frames for the LE 0-4-0 or 0-6-0 in 1" scale. Mostly focusing on the drivers, journal boxes, bearings, and maybe cylinder block parts. I'm in St. Louis. I'm OK with machined parts, rough machin...

Re: New York Central Streamlined Hudson

I would suggest using the photo as depicted in this photo. If you look at the coupler, you can see the air hose on the right hand side of the photo, or the LH side of the coupler, as facing a car you're about to couple up to. Compare this to the photo of the opposite view, if you can, and see if you...

Re: Foundries that Print Sand Molds from STL files?

I believe I have a copy of "Modern Casting" which has some information on 3d printing. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Re: Live steam and youth, February 2015

At the WF&P we have a rather young group of volunteers that maintain a fleet of steam locomotives for weekly use in revenue service. A number of us are in our mid-late 20's, but we have one member who is 20, and quite a few that are 10-18. I've been with the railroad for thirteen years now and B...

Re: Rod End Bearings?

We use take-up bearings for our diesels at the WF&P. Works well, easy to maintain and replace roller chains when necessary.

But then again we don't use them in a vertical arrangement, but they do work well in railroading when used properly.

Re: Little Engines 2.5" Scale Air Pump

Next up... The Steam cylinder! I chucked up in the ol' LeBlond and did the best I could for lining up the casting... Started with facing the first side of the casting. I had a few minutes of thinking as I was reviewing the prints and didn't want my mounting holes to be messed up. As a result, I woun...

Do we start a dedicated thread to build them?

If so I will drag out my castings to jump in.
I did -- check out the build forum.
