Cartridge question

Post by PeteH »

This may not be appropriate to this forum, but it does have to do (sorta) with gunsmithing and metal fabrication...

Has anyone here made 11.15 x 58mm R cartridges for the Austrian Werndl rifle ? If so, how? (I.e. what cartridge did you start with? -- I don't feel like turning them out from bar stock.)

Very strange-looking cartridge with a sort of ring around the primer.

Thanks.

.50 x 110 win. There was a antique cartridge fellow in eureca California. That may be a good lead.
348 win also. Maybe look at buffalo arms for brass??

Thanks... I'll look into the Eureka source.

There used to be a guy in Vermont who made custom (usually antique) cartridges, but I haven't seen him in years. He wasn't young then, so he may not be doing it any more.
