Unertl scope needs help.

Post by Timo »

Can anyone recommend a firm or individual that does repairs/refurbishing on Unertl rifle scopes. The glass is o.k. but the reticle is shot and the tube is in rough shape. I understand the folks in Pa. sold the business to an optical company in Texas. Their web site doesn't mention rifle scopes, but I e-mailed them anyway and never heard back from them, I guess I can take as a no. I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks,
Tim

I would look up Bill Ackerman, I think he's in NM. He does a lot of work on older scopes and he has a first class reputation.

Wayne, is there anyway you could put me in touch with someone who has dealt with Bill Ackerman?

i talked to a guy at the Unertl booth at the 'shot show' year before last in Orlando, and he said they still serviced the old target scopes. but that was year before last, and i think they lost the marine corps sniper scope acct. to schmidt and bender so, i dunno.........

Was a fellow on ebay that did the cross hairs using kevlar thread. Sent him my block off my Programmer and he did them. Very happy with the work he did but can't find his name right now.
