AutoCAD 2014 anyone?
AutoCAD 2014 anyone?
Anyone using AutoCAD 2014?
Been learning it for a couple weeks now and its fairly easy (so far). Anyone have any tips on making threads?

The only tip that I will give you is,AR15DCM wrote:Anyone using AutoCAD 2014?

Use it a minimum of at least a little each day, just to keep
it fresh in your mind. Don't let it frustrate you.
Also remember the 80/20 rule. 80% of the most successful
Auto Cad Pro's only can use about 20% of it's capabilities
in there life time. It's a life time experience.

George,
Not a good idea.
That would be like burning
yourself at the stake.

Actually Making or just Solid Modelling?
All threadmill manufacturers have their own applications for generating code for thread milling so you don't even need a CAM package.
If you want to make threads you don't need to model threads to cut them, most CAM software requires a few simple parameters based on the centre point of the diameter to be threaded.
If you want to model things and not make them I'm afraid I can't help - I make threads but don't have the need to model them,

Modeled thread is just a helix path and a v profile that follows the helix. Easy to do in Solidworks. Autocad? I freaking hate Autocad!
