Today I finally messed up the plating on the table. I welded something which was clamped flat on the table, and the heat went through the part and melted some plating loose. Not a big deal, since the plating was going to come off eventually anyway.
Every hard-fried egg began life sunny-side up.

The plating comes off easily. I was running some test beads in a 2" x 4" grid on a piece of scrap. When I finished I moved the scrap piece and found a 2x4 section of zinc peeled off. :)

I should remove the rest with acid to avoid the aggravation of watching it disintegrate over time.
Every hard-fried egg began life sunny-side up.
