Anyone certified lately
I will have to soon structure cert.. Any tips to do not do will be helpful. I look forward to all input. How thick what size coupon rod choice 6010 7018 ??? If I overhead will it cover vert. and flat? Thanks for your time!

There are many many different certifications, so ASAP, determine which one you are doing - that should dictate the rod type, metal thickness, position and the other variables. Get a copy of the structural code if possible - it should list the tests. Each industry has multiple certifications and most are not transferable.

Might add;
Probably an AWS test (American Welding Society). Some tests give you a lot of range in what you can weld afterwards and some do not. If you have a choice, take one that gives you a wider range before you have to take another test. Usually a difficult position will cover easier ones so overhead inclined usually covers all others.
