Making a fan blade

Post by Wayne Shaw »

How would you go about making a fan blade? I'm talking about something like a 12" diameter fan with four vanes, all pressed out of one piece of sheet aluminum? Any thoughts or ideas?

Depends on the amount of air to be moved and the speed of motor. The old brass desk fans have a simple brass sheet blades and a brass collar to fit the motor shaft. In the hvac sector the blades are mostly aluminum sheet, the hubs are 2 peice, a steel collar to fit the shaft and the blade holder that has the blade pitch stamped into it, the can use different blade sizes on a particular fun hub assembly. tt
