Post by partwerks »

Does anyone know if another company has taken over Hydra Tool Co. out of Topeka, KS and where a manual for a 3/8" X 10' shear and parts can be obtained at?

Looks like Hydra-Tool was purchased by CompuDyne in 1968

From CompuDyne's history
CompuDyne Corporation was formed in Pennsylvania in 1952 to
serve as a contractor for the U.S. Defense department through
a subsidiary called CompuDyne Controls. In 1967, the firm
started making acquisitions by buying a majority stake in
American Custom Metals Co., Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio. The
next year, General Indicator Corporation of Pardeeville,
Wisconsin, a sign manufacturer, and Hydra-Tool Company
of Topeka, Kansas, were purchased.
No immediate suggestions as to a source for parts, but it seems
possible that additional research stands a chance in locating
someone.

A manual for Hydra-Tool 1/4 to 3/4" shearsis presently offered
by an eBay vendor known as industrial-librarian.
